There is one way and only one way that we are sanctified and that is by beholding the beauty and glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

God has provided many means to open our eyes to see – Scripture reading, prayer, community, suffering, fasting, singing…

But these are not ends in themselves.

We can read the Bible for self-improvement rather than to Behold

We can pray to have our lusts satisfied rather than to Behold

We can meet with people to not feel lonely rather than to Behold

We can suffer hardship and become bitter rather than Beholding

We can fast and think we have earned something rather than Beholding

We can sing and be entertained rather than Beholding.

So stop (Ken) looking to “the means” for life and Look via the means to Jesus who is The Life.

John 5:39 – 40 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

II Cor 3:18 – And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
